Built in crisis.
Reborn in faith.
HolyJot began in the darkest days of a global pandemic and emerged as something far greater — a Spirit-led platform helping believers around the world go deeper in God's Word.
From JournalOwl to HolyJot
In 2020, we launched JournalOwl — a free online journaling platform designed to help people cope with the anxiety, isolation, and uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. Rooted in behavioral science, we helped thousands process their experiences through expressive writing.
For nearly four years, JournalOwl grew to serve users across 50+ countries. But by late 2023, we sensed it was time to pause, pray, and regroup. The vision needed to go deeper than science. People didn't just need self-help — they needed Spirit-led help.
In June 2025, we re-emerged as HolyJot — fully rebuilt, fully surrendered, and entirely focused on Holy Spirit-led journaling and discipleship.
JournalOwl launches during COVID-19 pandemic to support mental health through journaling.
Platform grows to tens of thousands of users across 50+ countries.
Team discerns a new direction: Spirit-led journaling rooted in Scripture.
Re-launched as HolyJot — a fully rebuilt discipleship and journaling platform.
Serving believers worldwide with FaithAI, Bible study, community hubs, and more.
Our mission
Help you draw closer to God — one journal entry,
one verse, one prayer at a time.
We believe that spiritual growth flourishes when you take time to pause, reflect, and write down what the Lord is revealing through His Word. That's why HolyJot exists: to create a sacred space where faith and technology meet to deepen your walk with Christ.
What we stand for
Our core values
Scripture-First
Every feature starts with the Word. FaithAI responds from Scripture, study plans are anchored in the Bible, and every journal prompt is designed to bring you closer to God.
Spirit-Led
We build with prayer. Our team commits each release to the Lord and we believe the Holy Spirit guides believers toward truth — not algorithms.
Community-Rooted
Faith grows in fellowship. Hubs, book clubs, journeys, and Converge challenges connect believers around the world in structured, Spirit-led community.
Free by Design
The core of HolyJot is — and always will be — free. Every believer deserves access to quality tools for their spiritual growth, regardless of income.
Health disclaimer: HolyJot is a platform centered on spiritual journaling and Christian fellowship. While many users find emotional and even physical healing through consistent journaling, HolyJot does not offer medical advice or replace professional treatment. If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, please seek professional help immediately.
