About HolyJot

HolyJot began in 2020 — in the form of JournalOwl — as a free online journaling and emotional support platform to help millions of people in the U.S. cope with anxiety, depression, and life’s growing mental burdens. But by 2023, it became clear: people didn’t just need self-help — they needed Spirit-led help. That’s why in June 2025, we re-launched as HolyJot — a journaling and discipleship platform rooted in the Word of God and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

A Community of Overcomers — Now Led by the Holy Spirit

HolyJot’s journey began at the height of the global pandemic in 2020. Originally launched as JournalOwl, the platform was created to provide a free, online journaling and support system for the millions of adults in the U.S. silently battling mental illness, anxiety, addiction, and emotional trauma. The vision then was to help people process stress and adversity through expressive writing, goal tracking, and structured journaling challenges rooted in behavioral science.

For nearly four years, JournalOwl helped thousands of people around the world cope with the chaos of a rapidly changing world — from COVID lockdowns and economic uncertainty to grief, isolation, and mental health breakdowns. But by late 2023, we sensed it was time to pause, pray, and regroup. The vision needed refinement. The mission needed to go deeper.

In June 2025, we re-emerged as HolyJot — fully rebuilt, fully surrendered, and entirely focused on Holy Spirit-led journaling and discipleship.

Why We Re-Launched

While JournalOwl was rooted in science and psychology, HolyJot is rooted in Scripture and the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe that journaling is more than just an emotional outlet — it is a spiritual practice, a way to dialogue with God, reflect on His Word, and discern His will for your life.

In a world flooded with noise and distraction, HolyJot offers a quiet refuge — a digital sanctuary where believers can journal through scripture, pray intentionally, and connect in fellowship with others on a similar walk.

The HolyJot Platform

HolyJot helps you track progress, break strongholds, and renew your mind — not through willpower alone, but through God’s Word and guidance. Whether you're fasting, trying to overcome addiction, launching a new ministry, or simply seeking to grow spiritually, HolyJot meets you where you are and equips you with:

Holy Spirit–Led Journeys: Bible-based journaling challenges with guided questions to help you deepen your faith, find healing, and pursue your calling.

Faith AI ("Faith"): An AI-powered companion trained to respond biblically to your journal entries with scriptural insight, reflection questions, and encouragement.

Community Groups: Safe, moderated spaces for believers to encourage each other, ask questions, and walk out their faith together.

Goal & Habit Trackers: Whether you're memorizing scripture, breaking old patterns, or building new spiritual disciplines, our tools help you stay focused.

Zoom-Integrated Study Groups: Meet weekly with other believers to discuss the Bible, pray together, and grow as the Body of Christ.

Our Community of Believers

HolyJot is more than a journaling app — it’s a community of overcomers. People from all walks of life — students, veterans, mothers, pastors, and young believers — come together here to heal, grow, and mature in Christ. We believe we’re stronger when we walk in unity, and our moderated discussion channels are designed to keep the focus on love, truth, and encouragement.

Free Access for U.S. Military and Veterans

As part of our commitment to serve those who serve, HolyJot offers 100% free access to Premium features for active-duty U.S. Military and Veterans. We understand the unique emotional and spiritual weight that comes with military service, and journaling can be a powerful outlet for processing trauma, anxiety, and life transitions — especially when guided by the truth of God’s Word.

Our Disclaimer

HolyJot is a platform centered on spiritual journaling and Christian fellowship. While many users find emotional and even physical healing through consistent journaling, HolyJot does not offer medical advice or replace professional treatment. If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, we urge you to seek professional help immediately.

From Journaling to Discipleship

We started as a journaling app. Today, we are a discipleship movement—a global network of Christians who believe that real transformation begins by going inward with the Holy Spirit and aligning our hearts with the Word of God.

Welcome to HolyJot.
Let’s journal. Let’s grow. Let’s overcome—together, in Christ.
