The Church and LGBTQ+ Questions: A Biblical Study
A thoughtful 7-day exploration of what Scripture says about sexuality, identity, and how the church can respond with both truth and compassion to LGBTQ+ questions.
About this plan
The intersection of faith and LGBTQ+ questions represents one of the most significant pastoral and theological challenges facing the modern church. Many believers struggle to hold together their commitment to biblical authority with their love for friends, family members, and neighbors who identify as LGBTQ+. This study is designed not to provide easy answers, but to ground us in Scripture while developing wisdom, compassion, and humility.
Over the next seven days, we will examine what the Bible teaches about human sexuality, identity, and God's design for relationships. We will also explore how Jesus modeled radical love and acceptance while maintaining truth. This journey requires us to wrestle honestly with difficult passages, to consider the cultural context of Scripture, and to ask hard questions about how we've sometimes failed to reflect Christ's character in our responses.
Whether you identify as LGBTQ+, have loved ones who do, or simply want to understand these issues more deeply, this study invites you to encounter Scripture with openness, integrity, and a genuine desire to follow Jesus more faithfully. We will not shy away from what the Bible says, nor will we dismiss the real experiences and dignity of LGBTQ+ individuals. Instead, we will seek to understand God's Word in its fullness and ask how we, as the body of Christ, can be agents of both truth and grace. ๐
