Starting a New Job with Integrity
A 7-day Bible study exploring how to honor God and maintain ethical standards as you begin a new chapter in your career.
About this plan
Starting a new job is an exciting transition filled with opportunities, challenges, and uncertainties. Whether you're entering your first position, changing careers, or accepting a promotion, this season requires wisdom, courage, and a clear moral compass. As a follower of Christ, your workplace is not separate from your faithβit's an extension of it.
This study will help you navigate your new role with integrity, examining biblical principles that apply directly to your professional life. You'll discover how to build trust with colleagues, handle ethical dilemmas, represent Christ authentically, and find purpose in your work beyond just earning a paycheck.
Throughout Scripture, we see examples of faithful servants who maintained their integrity despite pressure to compromise. Daniel refused to defile himself in a foreign palace. Joseph honored God while serving Potiphar and later Pharaoh. Nehemiah rebuilt Jerusalem's walls with honesty and accountability. Their stories remind us that our workplace conduct matters to God.
The foundation of workplace integrity is understanding that you work ultimately for the Lord, not for people (Colossians 3:23-24). This perspective transforms how you approach tasks, interact with colleagues, and respond to temptation. It means being honest when no one is watching, working diligently even when your boss isn't around, and treating others with respect because they bear God's image.
Over the next seven days, you'll reflect on key biblical truths: starting with purpose and calling, moving through honesty and character, exploring relationships and service, and concluding with perseverance and spiritual growth. Each day includes Scripture, devotional reflection, and practical application to help you establish a strong spiritual foundation in your new position. π As you begin this journey, invite the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts, words, and actions in every interaction at work.
